Tokyo Mew Mew Season 2:16

She blinked her eyes and gazed about her. She was lying in a bed in a strange room. The walls were a pale blue that gave the room a calming aura. The canopy over the bed was a deeper blue and it matched the sheets she was snuggled under. A large arched window allowed the warm midday sun to cascade into the room. So far as she could tell it wasn't a hospital room but then where was she?

"Why is it always me you send back to home?!" Taru complained, "She's playing too!"

Pudding gave him a smug grin,

"Lucas likes Pudding!" she cried.

Lucas laughed,

"I guess you could say that. Personally it's just because I like to pick on my little bro!"

Taru glowered at his older brother as he drew a card. The three of them were playing Sorry in one of the big rooms on the second floor of the Cyclon palace. At a table nearby Lettuce and Pai were poring over books. He was trying to find information on demons and how to protect yourself from them. `Just in case the one we didn't get comes back with friends' he thought. Lettuce currently had a book of Cyclon history, which she found rather fascinating. She was learning how much the two races had in common.

"Hey Pai look at this," she said quietly so only he could hear.

He put his book on the table and leaned closer to her to see the page she was pointing at. Her breath caught and her heart beat faster at how close he was.

"Uhhhh…" she stammered, "I…It seems that both Cyclons and Humans inhabited earth at the same time at one point."

"I know" Pai said, sounding a bit bored, "We were in one area and you were in a differ…"

"No," Lettuce cut him off getting her confidence back, "I mean we inhabited the same place at the same time."

She pointed to a passage that discussed the interaction of the two races.

"And" she said, "Relationships between the two grew and unions were formed. There were marriages and relationships and births." She paused to take a breath, "In fact there were so many Human/Cyclon births that they became their own race. They were called Elves. There's a whole chapter in here about Elves and their development and differences and similarities to Humans and Cyclons."

"Where did you find this book?" Pai asked, amazement showing in his voice.

"It was on one of the upper shelves behind some dusty old volumes."

Pai carefully picked up the book and turned it this way and that.

"Life on Earth" he murmured, reading the title.

He flipped the book open and found the chapter about Elves. He turned the pages slowly trying to take in the pages in a glance. Suddenly he stopped at the very end of the chapter. His breath caught as he scanned the page in excitement.

"Though most of the Elves decided to leave Earth with the Cyclons some decided to stay behind." He read, "Many were killed in the great catastrophe. Those that survived were forever changed. Though it is unclear why, these Elves were shunned from society and given the name Black Elves. Many of these Black Elves chose a different name for themselves, one that wouldn't be associated with their untarnished relatives."

Pai took a breath before whispering the name,

"Demons."
